2000 Valley of the Moon Zinfandel

Posted on September 13, 2009 - Filed Under Red wines, Reviews, Wine Reviews, Zinfandel, style | Leave a Comment

I discovered zinfandel last night…not to be confused with white zinfandel, its faggier variety. Tonight we welcome back our old friends at Valley of the Moon. I taste good chocolate, plum, and blackberry. Its dark, but lacking the beefiness. No real issues with this wine.

Brandy, making her triumpant return, says, “Like a raspberry-filled chocolate truffle in the gold wrapper.”

Man, I’m starting to dig Pinot Noirs, and this one is *funky*. Caramel, chocolate, and sugar plums, all dancing around in a thick, smoky, brown sugar sort of a wine, but without being a hangovery, uber-sweet piece of crap.

2000 Laurel Glen Red Wine

This is a mix of Syrah, Zinfandel, Barbera, blah, blah, blah….
This is a dark, mysterious, opiate of a wine. Dim the lights my friends. Its gonna be a sultry night…

2000 La Crema Pinot Noir

This…wine…fucking…RULES! Fruity, creamy, incredible. The only thing hurting this wine are the joyful tears I openly wept into the glass upon my first sip. Brandy says, “My brother cut his finger off today.”

Upon reflection, and much later, I thought, “Whoa, his finger?!”
