This is my 2nd Shiraz, so its time to start making generalizations. Definite plum & blackberry there, with a hint of Spanish clay. The thing about reds is that they’re all pretty good, but I have a hard time distinguishing between them. Its hard to imagine a red that’s gonna blow my mind. Time will tell, I suppose…

Damn, I dig this wine! Sweeter than one might expect, but there’s an underlying oakiness that keeps it from slipping into $4 hangover territory. Yummy! Australia: More than kangaroos and Midnight Oil, apparently.

Brandy also says, “A waterfall of flavor!”

It’s sweet! I do taste plum & blackberry. Who knew? Makes me think back to the days on Commonwealth Avenue, shuffling between mulberry bushes, searching for the blackest, sweetest berry. The thing is, if this is a relatively shitty shiraz, what am I missing? How high is the ceiling? All in all, a pleasant experience. Like picking berries all those summers ago. Young, innocent, and immortal….
